NSA and PRISM/GiG

The Washington Post released a story and snapshots of a presentation indicating the NSA's PRISM program has been collecting user data from a number of tech giants for years now. The companies mentioned are denying any involvement, but the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) which likely would have been used to collect this data requires full deniability so we really can't be certain. The group Anonymous also released other documents relating to PRISM and GiG, and these documents can be found at
http://thedocs.hostzi.com
or any associated mirrors.
When you take Room 641A into consideration, it sounds like the NSA's new Utah datacenter is going to store all the mirrored Internet traffic it can get. This data would then be analyzed by the NSA supposedly to gather intelligence on foreign users but could just as easily be used to target users within the US. With the supercomputing power of the NSA, strong encryption may not be able to save you but it may be a good place to start.
